Db2 Express C Db2 Install Problem

Hi everyone,

I'm learning DB2 and would like to use IBM Data Studio to connect to that local database, which I've been unable to. Re: DB2 Express-C Version 11.1.1.1 in Windows 10. I installed DB2 Express 10.1 on my Windows 7 (64bit) notebook. Now after the installation finished I cannot connect to the database. During the installation I specified 'C: Daten db db2' as the directory to be used for DB2. When trying to connect, I get the following error: SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file. The folder DB2, containing the DB2 databases created with DB2 Express-C 9.7.5, is apparently not recognized. The install procedure doesn't even attempt modifying or updating the SAMPLE database. Seems the previously created DB2 databases aren't accessible at all! I'm new to DB2 database. I installed DB2 Express-C on my local machine (Windows 10) to play with it, and I created a sample database. If I understand correctly, DB2 uses Windows accounts for access to database. The installation created a db2admin user, but this one does not have access to the sample database. However, having all these databases installed on my system is far from ideal, so I rely a lot on Docker for this task. In this article, I’m going to show how easily you can install DB2 on Docker and set up the JDBC connection so that you can run Hibernate tests on DB2. Installing the DB2 Docker container.

I have trouble to install db2 express-c. I can't figure out what is wrong.
Would somebody suggest what I can do to fix it. Thanks in advance.
I installed successfully db2 express-c on 2 PCs at the school, but I can't install
it on my PC successfully.
School: Windows XP Prof w/ SP 1, Pentium III 730 MHz, 256MB RAM
My PC: Windows XP Prof w/ SP 2, Pentium 4 2.4G, 1GB RAM (Firewall disabled)
On my PC, I got the following message displayed on the DOS prompt:
SQL10007N Message '-1390' could not be retrieved. Reason code: '5'
But I found the following before the above message in the db2.log:
1: ERROR:An error occurred while trying to start the 'DB2' instance. The return
code is '4' and the SQL Message is: 'PROCESS_ERROR'
