I find it very hard to find a 'Pro' for what is only a file update of the original Mapsource. It seems to me that Garmin goes to some extra effort to make using their Apps difficult to sort out and use.

Cons

If you don't already have Mapsource installed it it just a useless waste of time. It is an update to the original version. I was looking for an App to be installed on my new computer and continue what I started in my old XP. The original version was very hard to use and not user friendly at all. It is a shame because the car version of Garmin Nuvi is a pleasure to use in my car and motor home.

Look elsewhere. There must be another source of free and easy to use map editing software.

Searching from street names could be improved. You need to search for the exact name. Most people are used to google search which allows approximate search strings.
